Carp fishing in France

Late December 2012

Following a successful netting campaign and the lake water levels returning to the normal heights, we took delivery of our new stock. The first to arrive were two cracking mirror carp both in the excess of 40lb (photos below). These were closely followed by 2 beautiful grass carp weighing 45lb and a whooping 53lb. These new carp to compliment our already extensive stock are sure to improve the fishing this year at E'tang de Campas.

Early December 2012

December 2012 saw the Biannual lake netting of E'tang de Campas. Our french carp fishery has had a large increase in year 1 & 2 carp and with the feed they were consuming a successful netting campaign and the removal of these was essential.

David and his team lowered the lake level to 3 feet over a 2 week period to enable a high success rate when it came to the netting. The lads managed to remove 500kg of year 1 & 2 carp along with some silver fish. Our local fish farmer purchased these from us which provided additional funds to purchase more big fish. The removal of these fish will enable to stock to get more feed and hopefully better weight gains over the coming season. This will also prevent our guests being hassled by small fish picking up their hook baits. Below are some photos we took during the netting
